For a Senior Dog, Joining your Family is Like Coming Home

| November 4, 2015 | Adopt a Senior Dog, rescue dogs, shelter dogs
Senior dogs have often lived with a family already and have learned good manners.
This month is devoted to Senior Dogs. Here’s the second reason that adopting an older dog is a great idea.
Older dogs have been socialized to life with people and usually know simple obedience commands like sit, down and stay. They are house broken and can learn the new rules of your home in a day or less.
You will know how the dog gets along with children and other pets. Older dogs are less likely to chase and nip at kids the way puppies often do. A senior dog can be a wonderful companion for a child.
