Rescued From Abuse, a Golden Retriever Chooses Her Very First Toy

Things looked hopeless for this sweet Golden Retriever puppy when she was dumped at a high kill shelter.

She was left behind at the shelter by other rescuers because she was so terrified of everything around her.  She was abandoned, neglected, abused and ready to die.

That’s when Brian Becker arrived to change everything for this puppy who he lovingly rescued and named “Roo”.

“Roo the one-year-old rescued Golden Retriever who never had any toys, or so much as anything to chew, grew up imprisoned, starved and neglected,” Becker wrote on his blog.

In the video Brian takes Roo to pick out the first toy she was ever given.  At first she doesn’t understand but finally she realizes that she can choose a toy of her own.
