Blind Pug Lights Up Everyone’s Day
Mikey’s charm and resilience, in spite of his rough start in life, will warm your heart for sure!
Mikey was in bad shape when he arrived at Michigan Humane Society. The neglected pug had demodectic mange and severe glaucoma in both eyes, which was causing him a lot of pain. Because of this, his rescuers decided the best thing to do was to remove his eyes. Afterwards, Mikey went into foster care with Michigan Pug Rescue and during that time he caught the eye of Sabrina Johnson, a district judge.
“I got him from rescue, and he really rescued me,” Johnson says in the video. “He’s just the love of my life.”
Mikey adapted to his blindness and quickly learned his way around familiar places. In a new place he sometimes bumps into things at first, but just shakes it off and goes on his way. His attitude is an inspiration to everyone who meets him.
